Working on live briefs with real clients like Fish4Dogs and The Tank Museum proved to be the best preparation for a career in the industry as pitches and client reviews became common place for assessments.

I was also given the opportunity to work for the Mersey Care Liverpool NHS for my Boot-Camp (short placement) and experience working on a social media campaign targeting depression (#Brewfie). Employing my skills in social media planning, I was able to execute the campaign and even enact some changes to improve its effectiveness and achieve the goals set out during its initial conception. My dissertation was focused on addressing the Anti-Vaxxers movement as a communications issue, exploring why, in spite of the vast evidence to the contrary, parents believe vaccines (and specifically the MMR vaccine) are linked to autism. This necessitated interviews with parents of children with autism and tested my ability to stay impartial and continue in a professional manner, while still getting the information required.
